COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT

Pūtaiao Wānanga is a one-day event aimed at inspiring and educating youth about the importance of science and health. Through interactive exhibits, hands-on workshops. Pūtaiao Wānanga seeks to foster curiosity and empower young individuals to explore careers in these fields.

Whakarāpopoto Rangahau Summary of Research

The primary aim of this science-focused event is to inspire and engage rangatahi (youth) in Rāhui Pōkeka with the wonders of health, science and technology. By providing an interactive and educational experience, we hope to:

  • Introduce rangatahi to the various fields within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and demonstrate their relevance and applications in everyday life.
  • Encourage confidence and curiosity among Rangatahi, showing them that they can pursue and excel in scientific careers.
  • Highlight the contributions of local scientists and innovators, fostering a sense of pride and aspiration within the community.

Te Hiranga a Rangahau Research Impact

  • Participants gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Provides a comprehensive overview of the health sector and the educational pathways available, helping participants make informed career choices.
  • Offers long-term support for rangatahi, helping them navigate their career journey with the guidance of experienced professionals.

Overall, through Pūtaiao Wānanga, this grant will have a significant and multifaceted impact on the Rāhui Pōkeka community, particularly in fostering the development of our rangatahi.
